For about a month now my 1.6 HDI VTR+ has had a coolant leak. I wasn't sure where the water was going but I was topping it up every day and after doing a 30 mile round trip to work and back it was using over a litre per day! I took the car to my local Citroen dealer and got one of the technicians
Although it is necessary to have the fuel injection system cleaned , as the engine leans during the turn,the problem may be a faulty rubber air intake boot that flexes . Some 2009 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 VTi 16v VTRs have enjoyed a good reputation for being durable, dependable vehicles. Few have experienced significant engine problems.
The turbo failed on my C4 Picasso. The car is 4 months out of an approved used car warranty and the dealer has told me they have received notification from Citroen that the problem is due to a known fault. The dealer has requested a contibution for parts but must still charge me £1200 labour. This is £800 for the turbo replacement labour and another £400 to replace injectors. However
They hooked it up to Lexia and diagnosed a fuel filter problem. Although within service interval they said it was common for water to build up in the filter and then freeze in cold conditions blocking the flow of diesel.
