Yeah the key to really loving a new Far Cry game is space; I didn't touch a Far Cry game since I finished Primal, (which was both underrated and felt distinct from other games in the series). By the time FC5 came out, it had been around 3 years since I had played FC4, and consequently I had had enough time away for the gameplay loop to feel
Don't buy body armor. Waste of money IMHO. Sell off loot. When you loot bodies/chests, you usually get an item as well as some cash. Visit vendors often and sell this stuff. Upgrade your loot capacity. This will extend the times between you "selling visits".

In Far Cry 3 the only vehicles you can drive are old beater cars on jungle dirt roads, dinghy boats on twisty rivers, and hang gliders. GTA5 gives you performance cars on the freeway and supersonic jets. So Far Cry might be "smaller" but it'll take you longer to cross the map.
