Thanks. There is no possibility to play RE6 in LAN. It´s splitscreen or via servers LAN-mode in a game nowadays is a real rarity. And having no LAN, in games is mostly because of piratism and services like Hamachi and Tungle. Edited October 11, 2012 by pZiuz. Author.
RE5 and 6 are great for co-op but I personally enjoyed 5 way more because of the overall experience, DLC modes and characters. 6 has alot of issues but I do like certain aspects of the game like Jake/Sherry campaign, some of Chris’ and Mercenaries.

I'd go with 6 even if the majority says otherwise (for an unknown reason) 6 has an improved co-op and movement/combat system. Your characters can't really split up for a big distance for the majority of time since the game was designed that way, but there are definitely moments in the game where you can and should split up to defeat an enemy/enemies.

The Partner Action Button is a context sensitive feature introduced in Resident Evil 5 and that is also present in Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil: Revelations 2. In Resident Evil 5, most of the gameplay revolves around this feature, as Chris and Sheva must act together in order to progress through the game. It's featured on both single player and multiplayer
